Guidelines for free registered-reader access and respectful discussion.

Registered-reader access is free. Keep your account details accurate, verify your email and use an individual account. A student label is self-declared.

Join the discussion

Discuss the story respectfully. Do not post threats, harassment, private personal details, discriminatory abuse, misleading impersonation, spam or content you do not have the right to share. Comments are plain text, limited to 3,000 characters and rate limited.

Comments may be held for moderation. Staff may approve, edit, remove or reply to comments and suspend or ban accounts that misuse the service. A correction to a story is handled separately from a comment.
